Personal brand photoshoots are all about you and your business. Together we create a portfolio of unique images to tell your brand story, setting you apart from the crowd and allowing your audience to get to know you on a personal level. All this helps to build connection, brand awareness and trust.

I recently worked with the lovely and talented Ali McNab, transformational life and professional coach to create a selection of images that she could use on her website and social media platforms. Ali works with clients who feel frustrated or stuck in aspects of their life or work, helping them to feel confident and empowered to reach their aspirations and experience a fulfilled, balanced and happy life. She offers programmes of 1:1 coaching in person and online, group coaching and workshops for bigger groups. Ali also works with Charities and social purpose organisations supporting their staff’s well-being.

It was important to Ali to connect with her on a personal level and demonstrate her empathy and authenticity in her life and work. To achieve this, we created a shot list that we could fulfil around her home and local area without the use of elaborate props or sets.

We met in advance of the shoot to discuss the elements of her life and business that Ali wanted to share, how we were going to present these stories through the images and style that Ali envisioned. No two personal branding shoots are the same so pre-shoot consultation is essential for us to achieve the results anticipated on the day.

To start off the consultation, I provided Ali with a questionnaire so I could find out all about her and her business and what she wanted to achieve from the photoshoot. From here, we build a mood board on Pinterest to collect ideas and the types of images and style Ali was after. Finally, we put together a shot list of all the shots she wanted to try.

All the pre-planning meant that we were able to move smoothly from shot to shot and eliminate any uncertainty and stress. We had a plan, we knew what we were doing and we enjoyed doing it!

Besides the time spent with Ali during the planning and the shoot itself, I had the pleasure of participating in one of Ali’s workshops (Be Your Best: Navigating the Complexities of Home and Work Life) with parenting specialist, Daisy Seale-Barnes. Ali and Diasy created the perfect space for a room of a strangers to feel safe and comfortable to share their personal thoughts and experiences in a non-judgemental and supportive environment. As a newcomer to mindfulness and visioning exercises, I was amazed by the intensity of the state of being that I achieved during the exercises. This gave me the space to explore aspects of my life that I would normally spurn and the motivation to think about making some changes. Ali's approach is very calming, non-judgemental and supportive. I highly recommend a session with Ali and her joint workshop with Daisy.

If you would like to achieve some balance and fulfilment in your life, learn more about Ali on her website and see how she’s putting her images to use.
